Boost blog traffic with keyword Selection and How to SEO:

Keyword

One of the biggest sources of traffic to your blog will be search engines, particularly Google. You can boost the traffic that comes to your blogs from search engines by implementing search engine optimization (SEO) tricks into your blog layout and writing. You can get started by doing some keyword research and determining which keywords selection are likely to drive the most traffic to your blog. Then focus on incorporating those keywords selection into your blog posts using the tricks below.

01

Use keywords in your blog post title.

People Images/Getty Images

One of the best ways to incorporate keywords into your blog posts is to use them in your blog post titles. However, don’t sacrifice a title’s ability to motivate people to click through and read your entire blog post. Learn tips to write great blog post titles.

02

Focus on using just one or two keyword phrases in each blog post.

To maximize the traffic that comes to your blog via search engines, focus on optimizing each of your blog posts for just one or two keyword phrases. Too many keyword phrases dilute the content of your post for readers and can look like spam to both readers and search engines. You can learn more about using specific keywords to maximize search traffic by reading about long tail search engine optimization.

03

Use keywords throughout your blog posts.

Try to use your keywords (without keyword stuffing) multiple times in your blog post. For best results, use your keywords within the first 200 characters of your blog post, several times throughout your post, and near the end of the post. Take some time to learn more about keyword stuffing and other search engine optimization don’ts.

04

Use keywords in and around links in your blog post.

Search engine optimization experts believe that search engines like Google place more weight on linked text than unlinked text when ranking search engine results. Therefore, it’s a good idea to include your keywords in or next to the links within your blog posts when it’s relevant to do so. Be sure to read about how many links are too many for SEO before you start adding links to your posts.

05

Use keywords in image Alt-tags.

When you upload an image to your blog to use in your blog post, you usually have the option of adding alternate text for that image which appears if a visitor cannot load or see your images in their Web browsers. However, this alternate text can also help your search engine optimization efforts. That’s because the alternate text appears within the HTML of your blog post content as something called an Alt-tag. Google and other search engines crawl that tag and use it in providing results for keyword searches. Take the time to add keywords that are relevant to the image and post in the Alt-tag for each image you upload and publish on your blog.

Find Powerful Keywords for Your Blog

Keyword Planning

SEMRush and Google Analytics are the gold standards as far as keyword research tools go. You can use them to gain insights about keywords – specifically, search volume and competition.

Search Volume—defined in terms of estimated monthly traffic. This gives you an idea of how many people are searching using the specified keyword.

Competition—defined on a scale of low to high (Google) or from 0 to 1 (SEMRush, with 1 representing high competition). This gives you a general idea of how difficult it will be to rank for the specified keyword.

NOTE: “Competition” should be treated as a guideline more than a rule. It’s easiest to get a feel for the competition you’re facing by looking at the Search Engine Results Pages (SERPs). By looking at the websites you’ll be competing with for the keyword, you’ll get a better idea of what is meant by “competition.”

Long-Tail Keywords vs. Head Terms

The two main categories you can break keywords into are long-tail and head terms. Long-tail keywords are longer, more specific keywords. Head terms are more generic, shorter keywords.

Example

Head Term: “laptop charger”

Long-tail keyword: “replacement laptop charger for MacinSoft 2000X”

While long-tail keywords don’t get as much search volume, they do allow you to target your content better to drive more relevant traffic. This leads to better conversion rates because searchers who have a specific search query are more likely to be close to buying.

Additionally, for businesses that are just starting to blog, long-tail keywords are a great way to get quick wins in SERPs. The cumulative effect of ranking for several long-tail keywords builds authority so you can start targeting more competitive head terms in your evergreen content.

Incorporating Keywords into Blog Posts

Search engine algorithms have gotten smart, so stuffing keywords into your post in a nonsensical way will do nothing but harm. The best way to incorporate keywords naturally is to ensure that your keyword is highly relevant to your topic, and to plan out your topic and keywords together before writing the post. You’ll know you’re doing it right when it’s impossible to write about your chosen topic without using the keyword you’re targeting.

Also, take care to include the keyword in all the relevant places—titles, h2 tags, meta descriptions, and alt text. Make sure your keyword is also included in your first paragraph and used two other times throughout your article. Yoast is a great plugin for WordPress that provides a real-time checklist for proper keyword placement.

No matter your business, knowing how to find keywords will give you a huge leg up on the competition. The right keywords are essential to a robust blogging strategy. Have more questions about finding powerful keywords? Set up a time to talk with the content team at Volume Nine!

To select the least competitive keywords is to use those key phrases, which contain at least 3-4 words. All 1- and 2-word queries have HUGE competition. If you’re on a tight budget, focus on long tail keywords (which contain 4 or more words).

Use Heading, sub-heading like H1, H2, H3…of your content for giving importance of your post by search engine. Often heading, sub-heading would be thru Html Heading Tag for finding by search engine. Don’t optimize your site by any one keyword, but use different keyword’s selection for each page to rank high each specific keyword. Google likes posts or contents which has Keyword relativity & Density with “Title +Meta Tag + Meta description + Content”. Maintain Keyword density 1 to 3 % of your contents paragraph. Beware about:

“Keyword(s) not included in Meta-Title”

“Keyword(s) not included in Meta-Description”

There is likely no optimal keyword density (search engine algorithms have evolved beyond keyword density metrics as a significant ranking factor). It can be useful, however, to note which keywords appear most often in your page, and if they reflect the intended topic of your page. More importantly, the keywords in your page should appear within natural sounding and grammatically correct copy.

Why Don’t I Rank? How Does Google Search Work?

Why you don’t rank in Google

gg12

Why you don’t rank in Google? Most common question in all of web marketing. Asking how does Google search work? The main reason websites don’t rank is this: Credibility happens when one website links to another. Sites are credible (and therefore rank-worthy) when other credible websites link to them. The quantity and quality of the links to your website combine into a credibility score. This is sometimes called “domain authority” and it is a scale of 1 – 100. The credibility of a specific page is its “page authority” The more credibility, the more likely you are to rank. The actual Google term for link popularity is PageRank. It measures link popularity on a scale of 1-10 which named after Google founder Larry Page. Another reason you don’t rank: you don’t have a great page focused on the topicyou’re targeting. You need to have a page on your site totally focused on the target phrase if you hope to rank. Remember, Google doesn’t rank websites, it ranks web pages. That’s how Google search works. You make the best page on the Internet for that topic. So improve the quality of the page and make a good page great.

  • Add examples and evidence.
  • Add images, charts, and graphs.
  • Add detailed, step-by-step instructions.
  • Add quotes from experts and influencers.
  • Add statistics from research studies.

Many SEO experts consider the optimum keyword density to be 1 to 3 percent. Keyword density is the percentage of times a keyword or phrase appears on a web page compared to the total number of words on the page. Use the keyphrase once in the page title, once in the header, several times in the body of the page. Other places are Meta tags, image ALT tags, bullet lists, links, and captions. Links that affect search Engine Rankings (SEO).

Internal link

Authority flows through the internet through links. An Internal link is a link from one page to another page on the same domain. Your website navigation is an example of internal linking. Internal linking is important which pass authority from one page to another (search optimization) , They guide visitors to high-value, high-converting pages (usability), They prompt visitors to act as calls-to-action (conversion optimization).

External link

An external link is a link from another site to your site. They’re important for referral traffic and SEO, but they’re on other websites. You can’t control them. Internal links are easy. You can make them in minutes. External links also refer to links from your site to another site, but we’re talking about other sites linking back to you. Difference between internal and external links for SEO. Some of your pages have more authority than others. These are pages that already have links pointing to them. Your home page is the best example. Links from these pages to other pages will pass more authority and SEO value. Some of your pages will benefit from authority more than others. These are pages that may be ranking, but not that high. Maybe they’re ranking high on page two, so a little bit more authority might go a long way. Links to these pages might help your rankings a lot.

A couple of different reasons you don’t rank other than depicted above out of hundreds are Technical reason like “robots” content=’noindex,nofollow’/>, Website Navigation which is an important  one , Internal Linking, Social Activity-Make beyond any doubt you’re offering liberally and associating your content to individuals on social networks. A few high ranking, high quality pages are prone to draw in links from different sites actually, helping them rank significantly higher. Furthermore, those links make your whole site more definitive, helping every one of your pages rank even higher. Keep going. Publish more content on related topics. Submit some as guest posts to related blogs. Offer with influencers. Add more internal links. Try more phrases. Quality takes time, but it’s worth it.

How does Google search work?

Learn how Google discovers, crawls, and serves web pages

. When you take a seat at your PC and do a Google search, you’re immediately given a rundown of results from everywhere throughout the web. How does Google discover website pages coordinating your inquiry, and decide the request of search results?
In the most straightforward terms, you could consider seeking the web as looking in a vast book with an impressive index letting you know precisely where everything is found. When you play out a Google search, our index check our file to decide the most relevant search  items to be returned (“served”) to you.
The three key processes in delivering search results to you are:

Crawling

Crawling is the procedure by which Googlebot finds new and overhauled pages to be added to the Google index.

We utilize an enormous arrangement of computers to bring (or “crawl”) billions of pages on the web. The program that does the getting is called Googlebot (otherwise called a robot, bot, or spider). Googlebot utilizes an algorithmic procedure: computer programs figure out which destinations to creep, how regularly, and what number of pages to bring from every site.

Google’s crawl process starts with a list of website page URLs, created from crawl processes, and increased with Sitemap data provided by webmasters. As Googlebot visits each of these sites it detects links on every page and adds them to its list of pages to crawl.  changes to existing destinations, and dead links  are noted and used to update  the Google index.

Google doesn’t accept payment to crawl a site all the more regularly, and we keep the search side of our business separate from our income producing AdWords service.

Indexing

Googlebot forms each of the pages it crawls keeping in mind the end goal to arrange a huge list of the considerable number of words it sees and their area on every page. Likewise, we handle data incorporated into key substance labels and characteristics, for example, Title labels and ALT properties. Googlebot can prepare numerous, yet not every single, substance sort. For instance, we can’t handle the content of some rich media files or element pages.

Serving results

At the point when a user enters a question, our machines search the index  for coordinating pages and give back the outcomes we accept are the most important to the user. Pertinence is controlled by more than 200 components, one of which is the PageRank for a given page. PageRank is the measure of the significance of a page in light of the approaching connections from different pages. In straightforward terms, every connection to a page on your site from another site adds to your site’s PageRank. Not all links are equivalent: Google endeavors to enhance the client experience by distinguishing spam links and different practices that contrarily affect list items. 1. URL Structure

Including search engine friendly URLs for each of your pages is highly recommended, as these bring better crawling. Shorter URLs seem to perform better in search engine results, however that is not the only factor.

URLs that include targeted keywords also perform better. The location of these keywords can also be a major influence. For example site.com/keyword would perform better than site.com/365/738/subfolder/keyword etc.

  1. Body Tags (H1, H2, H3, H4, etc.)

When writing your articles, you should break up your content into smaller sections & paragraphs to make it easier for people to read. These sections can be given heading, which is where H1, H2,H3, H4, etc. tags are used.

  1. Keyword Density

Including relevant keywords throughout your content is very important, as it helps search engines work out what your content is about. However, try not to excessively repeat and overuse keywords just for search engine robots. This can lead to your site being banned from search engines.

To avoid this, try to keep your keyword density to roughly 2-5%. If you find this hard, get out a thesaurus and broaden your writing vocabulary. This way, you are still writing about the same thing, without risk of being banned.

  1. Image SEO

Using images within your content is a great way to make your site more visually appealing and break up boring chunks of text. You can utilise these images to help improve your site SEO.

All your uploaded images have titles, so treat them just the same as your page titles. Including relevant keywords can help people find your site when searching on Google Images.

You can also include Alt Text and Descriptions for your images, making them even more useful with SEO.

  1. Internal Linking

People often think that the only links that count are those from other websites. While these links are important, these are not the only important links!

Placing links to your other website pages, is a great way of improving your site and used properly, internal links can be a useful weapon in your SEO arsenal. Not only does it make it much easier for your visitors to navigate around your site and find all of your content, but it also ensures that your site gets properly crawled allowing the search engines to find all of your pages. Post comments on other blogs within the same niche as yours, which allow you to add a link in the comments section. These links can then be crawled by search engines, helping to point them towards your site.  These blogs are commonly referred to as “Do-Follow” Blogs (Just like ours, where you can comment below!).

  1. Forum Marketing

Find forums online that are related to your sites niche and get involved within that community. Reply to threads, answer peoples questions, offer advice, etc. This all helps to build up your reputation as someone who is an expert within that niche. Try to use “Do-Follow” Forums so that you can include a link to your site within your signature, which helps search engines crawl your site.

  1. Search Engine Submission

Search engines will eventually find your site online, but that can take a while. To speed everything up, you should submit your website to the most popular search engines like Google, Yahoo, Bing, etc.

  1. Directory Submission

Many people may say that directory submission is dead! I believe that it isn’t as you are increasing the likely hood of people seeing your website. It is purely based on how effectively we are selecting those directories and how efficiently we are choosing the category for submission. You could submit to general directories, but for maximum effect, you are better off submitting to niche directories. Of course, I agree that it gives quite delayed results, but it is worth doing it.

  1. Social Bookmarking

Social Bookmarking is another great way of promoting your website. Submit your latest blog posts and pages to the most popular bookmarking sites, like StumbleUpon, Digg, Delicious, Reddit, etc. Search engines really like these types of sites because the content on these sites is updated very frequently.

You should be very careful while doing this and you must properly handle the tags which are very essential to broadcast your news on a wide area network. This may increase your website traffic based on how effectively you have participated.

  1. Link Baiting

Link baiting is another popular way of promoting your site. If you produce a really popular unique post for your site, then other people may want to link to it. Perhaps you have copied/published another website’s content on your site, don’t forget to place their website link as a reference. Do it for others and, if your content is trustworthy, let others do it for you. This is another way to increase your link popularity.

  1. Photo Sharing

If you have used any of your own photos or images on your site, then you can share then on many of the major photo sharing websites like Flickr, Picasa, Photo Bucket, etc. Other people will be able to see them and comment on them, hopefully following a link to your site.

  1. Video Marketing

Just like photo sharing, if you have any videos that you have used on your site, then you can submit them to sites like; YouTube, Vimeo, etc. allowing people to find your content in other ways.

  1. Business Reviews

Write reviews about others businesses or ask your friends/clients to write a review of your business in major business review sites like RateitAll, Shvoong, Kaboodle, Stylefeeder, etc.

  1. Local Listings

Depending on your site’s niche, you might find that listing in local directories may be useful. You may have a website promoting your local business, therefore instead of going global and facing huge competition, listing your website locally, so that search engines can easily view your website and fetch the content, will be much better. This will help you to reach a targeted audience. Submit your website to sites like; Google Local, Maps, Yahoo Local, Yellow Pages, etc.

  1. Article Submission

If you write your articles yourself, then you can submit them to popular article directory sites like; Ezine, Go Articles, Now Public, etc. This can help drive traffic to your site, whilst you can also gain some links to your site from other people (though it’s usually a slower process).

  1. Social Shopping Network

If you run an e-commerce website, then a good strategy for advertising and branding your products for free is to submit then to online shopping networks. By submitting your products to sites like; Google Product Search, Yahoo Online Shopping, MSN Online Shopping, and other major social shopping network sites like Kaboodle, Style Feeder, etc. then you increase the likelihood of people finding the products that you are selling.

Backlink Tips & Advice

bl4

Begin getting backlinks. Links demonstrate a site’s popularity. Backlink characteristics that matter in rankings algorithms. a backlink from a high ranked site will count more than one from a low ranked site. A link from a relevant site within your industry also will get more weight. since search engines can’t manually assess the quality of every site, they rely on the number of backlinks pointing at a site and the relative quality of the links to determine a site’s overall value. Clarification of the synergic impact of Google Penguin 3.0: as indicated by Natural Anchor Text Distribution Formula, for your backlink profile to look common to Google, the stay writings of most backlinks ought to incorporate your site URL, brand name, area name and numerous different watchwords, not associated with your primary focused on catchphrase. It implies that if your site as of now has numerous such backlinks with URL, brand name, and different watchwords, then any new connections that you work with your focused on catchphrases utilized as a part of the stay writings, will fundamentally enhance your site positions on Google for MANY watchwords without a moment’s delay: for ALL of your current catchphrases utilized as a part of old backlinks in addition to for ALL catchphrases, utilized on your site as a part of your substance in addition to for ALL long tail catchphrases.

Find Why Backlinks are essential for your web-blog sites SEO-Keep in mind the following criteria:

  • Backlinks should come from relevant sites that publish quality content.
  • They shouldn’t be paid for. It’s a “black hat” strategy that Google doesn’t condone.
  • Backlinks should be built slowly. If you create them too quickly, you could appear to be manipulating the rankings and trigger penalties from the search engines.
  • Backlinks are links on one website that, when clicked, take the user to another site. For example:this is a linkclick hereExamplecomhttp://www.example.com.
  • Backlinks can be in the form of an image as well as text. If a link is an image, the anchor link text is the alt tag of the image.
  • Anchor link text is the text that’s used to create the clickable part of a backlink. It can be a URL, branded (your name, your business’s name, etc.), phrases that include the keywords you’re targeting, or phrases that don’t include the keywords you’re targeting.
  • It used to be the case that it really helped if the anchor link text used for a backlink was the same as one of your target keywords, but this is no longer the case. It can now actually be counter-productive to have too many links in that format.
  • If your website has a backlink profile without lots of branded links (like ‘Company Name’ and ‘www.companyname.co.uk’), it can signal to Google that you’ve been using manipulative link building tactics.
  • A nofollow link is one that has had the rel=”nofollow” attribute applied to it, which instructs Google to not use that link when calculating the trust and authority of the page being linked to.
  • Dofollow links, which have no attribute applied to them, andare used by Google in their ranking algorithm, are more valuable than nofollow links, however, a link profile with few nofollow links looks unnatural.
  • You can see a near complete list of who is linking to your website from within your Google Search Console account. Login, go to ’Traffic’ and then ‘Links’.
  • Backlinks affect search engine rankings more than anything else. The number and quality of them pointing towards your site will largely determine in what position your site ranks in the search results.
  • You need to actively go out and seek backlinks. Your site will acquire some naturally, but if you need to catch up with more established competitors, and you want to rank highly, you need to be pro-active.
  • Building backlinks is not difficult or technical, and you don’t need any special skills, tools or software to be able to do it. More than anything, it’s about contacting people and building relationships with other site owners.
  • You can outsource link building, but if you do so cheaply (less than £250 a month), the SEO company building them will be inclined to build easy, low quality ones, that may result in your sitebeing penalized by Google.
  • Building links steadily over time, like a few a week, is preferable to building 100 in a week and then not building any again, as the latter approach can signal to Google that you’ve engaged in unnatural link building.
  • How many backlinks you needdepends on how many keywords you’re targeting, the level of competition for those keywords, the quality of the backlinks you acquire, and how good your on-site optimization is.
  • It’s not purely a numbers game when it comes to backlinks. Simply getting more links than any of your competitors isn’t the aim – getting more high quality links than them is.
  • Not all backlinks are equal. Some will improve your rankings, some will have no effect on them, and some might have a negative effect on them.
  • If you have 10 trustworthy and authoritative links from relevant sources, and a competitor has 100 spam backlinks, then, in terms of backlinks at least, Google will favour your site over theirs.
  • Having lots of low quality backlinks can have a negative effect on your website’s ranking, so be selective when link building, and don’t get a link from another site just because it’s easy to do so.
  • Be prepared to work for high quality backlinks. Generally, the more easily you can acquire a link, the less value it will likely have.
  • For a backlink to be considered a high quality one, it must meet multiple criteria. The more of the criteria a link opportunity meets, the more time and effort it’s worth investing to get it.
  • Having a link in a prominent position on a highly visited page makes it valuable, because, regardless of rankings, it will bring your website a continual stream of targeted visitors.
  • An in-content backlink (i.e. one within a block of text) is, all else being equal, more valuable than a link separated from content (like in the sidebar or footer) or a link within a list of links.
  • Don’t worry about the authority (PageRank, Ahrefs Domain Rank, etc.) of the page that a link is on. All pages start off with no authority but can increase over time, so a PR0 page today, can be a PR5 page in 6 months time.
  • The trust and authority passed on from a page gets divided up between all of the links on that page, so getting a link from a page with few other links on it is preferable to getting one from a page with 50+ links on it.
  • Links from relevant websites are best, followed by links from relevant pages on irrelevant (or multiple topic / magazine style) sites. Links from irrelevant pages on irrelevant sites aren’t worthless, but don’t invest much time or effort into the acquisition of them.
  • Links from other UK sites are best (if you want to rank highly in Google.co.uk), but links from sites in America, Canada, Australia, etc. are beneficial too.
  • Try to get links to as many different pages of your website as possible. Not just to the homepage (which will naturally acquire the most), but to internal pages too – like your category/product/service pages.
  • After getting one link from a site, any subsequent ones from that same site have much less value, so focus on acquiring links from new sites, rather than getting more from sites that are already linking to yours.
  • It can take weeks for your website to be credited for a new backlink. First Google has to find the new link, then they have to work it into their algorithm, then they have to update the search results.
  • The best ways tofind websites to get links from are to research who is linking to your competitors and to search on Google for sites that are talking about topics related to yours.
  • Use a backlink research tool, like Ahrefs. Doing so gives you access to extensive backlink data for your site and your competitors’ sites.
  • Backlink analysis tools never show a website’s complete link profile, and it can take weeks or months for new links to show up in them. Whichever tool you use, you’ll only see 30-50% of a site’s backlinks at most.
  • There are lots of ways to get backlinks. Don’t rely on just a few methods because a varied link profile looks more natural and is less likely to be negatively effected by future algorithm updates.
  • Email is the standard way to contact someone about linking to your site, but try contacting people through Facebook, Google+, Twitter, etc. first if they have links to their social media profiles on their site.
  • When contacting someone about linking to your site, make the communication as personal as possible. Reference the name of their site/business, and use their first name if you can find it.
  • When emailing people, avoid mentioning ‘link’ or ‘backlink’ in the subject field, don’t include any URLs in the first email, and leave out any SEO terminology, like rankings, algorithms , dofollow/nofollow, etc.
  • Be persistent when contacting people – a social media message, then an email, then a follow-up email, then a phone call. Only give up when they give you a definite ‘no’.
  • Attach some some kind of offer/value to your link requests that makes it worthwhile for the other person to respond, as if there’s nothing in it for them, 99% of the time they won’t respond.
  • There are basically5 reasons that someone will link to your site: they think your site is unique/interesting/engaging;  they know you and/or owe you a favour;  you link to their site in return; you give them content to publish on their site; you provide them with a financial incentive.
  • Acquiring good quality backlinks becomes much easier if the content on your website is worthy of being linked to. If your site is essentially just a collection of sales pages, then you’ll struggle to persuade others to link to it.
  • It’s best if you can get someone to link to your site without you also having to link to theirs, but exchanging links is better than no link at all, so if it’s a relevant, good quality website, and they want to exchange links, then do it.
  • If you’re exchanging links with another site, try do so from within an article or blog post (existing or newly created) on your respective websites, rather than from partner/links/friends style pages.
  • Buying backlinksis technically against Google’s guidelines, but it’s a widespread practice, especially for high value, competitive keywords.
  • If you buy a link on a specific website and deal directly with the owner of that site, then it’s pretty much impossible for that to get flagged as a paid link (unless the site is advertising that they sell links).
  • Don’t buy links being openly sold (like in forums) or offered to you via email, and don’t use automated link building tools, software or services.
  • The price of a single paid link can vary from £25 to £1000+ a year. Even £25 might seem a lot, but if it’s a good link on a good, relevant site, the improved rankings and the extra traffic generated can more than pay for the cost of the link.
  • If you take an aggressive approach to building links, it’s highly likely that your site will be penalised by one of Google’s Penguin updates, which specifically target unnatural linking practices.
  • Be cautious and conservative when building backlinks, because trying to remove links that have gotten your website penalised is not simple or quick.
  • Telling Google that you didn’t build the links that they’ve penalised your site for isn’t accepted as a valid excuse and won’t result in the penalty being removed.
  • Recovering from a Google penalty caused by unnatural backlinks will take at least 3+ months, and in lots of cases a year or more.Source:

Generally expanding Google positioning with the point of backlinks may look exceptionally suspicious to Google and force the danger of punishments. In the event that this substance incorporates your focused on catchphrases, then it will add extra connection juice to your backlinks. Links Management will look totally characteristic to Google and altogether enhance your site rankings on Google, and on other web crawlers.

PageRank is an algorithm used by Google Search to rank websites in their search engine results. PageRank was named after Larry Page,[1] one of the founders of Google. PageRank is a way of measuring the importance of website pages. According to Google:

PageRank works by counting the number and quality of links to a page to determine a rough estimate of how important the website is. The underlying assumption is that more important websites are likely to receive more links from other websites.[2]

Avoid!!

There are many good inbound link building strategies, there are definitely a few bad ones. Engaging in these tactics can end up getting your site de-indexed from search engines. Here are a few examples of link building strategies you should avoid:

Automated link building

Automated link building is a fancy way of referring to spammers. They use third-party software to create fake profiles and post random comments with links on any website that does not heavily restrict comments. They will also use automated tools to create barebones websites and heavily link out to their websites in “scraped” blog posts (essentially plagiarism). Outdated or shady SEO firms may still practice these tactics, so always perform due diligence when considering outsourcing an SEO agency.

Paying for links

The purchasing of links is strictly forbidden by Google. There are many low quality directory sites on the internet that request small fees to have your listing included—avoid these sites like the plague. Also be skeptical of any emails or comments you receive that offer to acquire links for you, in return for an undisclosed amount of money.

Here’s some advice straight from Google’s mouth:
“The best way to get other sites to create high-quality, relevant links to yours is to create unique, relevant content that can naturally gain popularity in the Internet community. Creating good content pays off: Links are usually editorial votes given by choice, and the more useful content you have, the greater the chances someone else will find that content valuable to their readers and link to it.”

Explore Social Bookmarking Sites

sbm3

Social bookmarking is a great way to promote your blog, network with other bloggers-Explore Social bookmarking sites here-on which Internet users share their web pages, articles, blog posts, images, and videos and find new ideas and information to help you develop content for your blog. Following is an overview of the most popular social bookmarking sites on the web.

Basically, these are sites that allow users to post their favorite sites, stories, images, and videos, using tags (or keywords) to categorize and organize them. Other users can take these bookmarks and add them to their own collection or share them with even more users; many sites also have an integrated voting system that rates links according to how many people are viewing them at any given time, moving up and down in popularity.

Social bookmarking anyway you can think of social bookmarking like this: simply tagging a web page with a web-based tool so you can easily access it later. Instead of saving them to your web browser, you are saving them to the web. And, because your bookmarks are online, you can easily access them anywhere you have an internet connection and share them with friends.

Most social bookmarking sites allow you to browse through the items based on most popular, recently added, or belonging to a certain category like shopping, technology, politics, blogging, news, sports, etc.

You can even search through what people have bookmarked by typing in what you are looking for in the search tool. In fact, social bookmarking sites are being used as intelligent search engines.

Why Social Bookmarking?

sbm2

Social bookmarking is a method of saving and storing online information or web pages for future reference. Rather than adding web pages to your ‘Favorites’ menu in your web browser, you can bookmark them using a social bookmarking site for future access.

Bookmarking allows you to access your saved web pages from any computer that has access to the Internet since it doesn’t rely on information stored on your computer’s hard drive as your Favorites menu does.

Social bookmarking occurs when users share their bookmarked web pages via social bookmarking communities. When you share your blog posts through social bookmarking, you can increase traffic to your blog. Alternatively, when you view other users’ bookmarks, you can find new blogs to read, new post ideas, new conversations to start, new communities to join for further networking and more.

Since social bookmarking tools are access on the web or via a web-based application, this means you can save a new bookmark using one device, access your account on another device and see everything you added or updated from your other device. As long as you’re signed into your social bookmarking account, you’ll have the most recently updated version of all your bookmarks and other customizable information.

On May 14, 2007, Facebook launched Marketplace, which lets users post free classified ads.[194] Marketplace has been compared to Craigslist by CNET, which points out that the major difference between the two is that listings posted by a user on Marketplace are seen only by users in the same network as that user, whereas listings posted on Craigslist can be seen by anyone.[195]

On June 13, 2009, Facebook introduced a “Usernames” feature, whereby pages can be linked with simpler URLs such as https://www.facebook.com/name instead ofhttps://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=20531316728.[217] Many new smartphones offer access to Facebook services through either their Web browsers or applications. An official Facebook application is available for the operating systems AndroidiOSwebOS, and Firefox OSNokia and Research In Motion both provide Facebook applications for their own mobile devices. As of January 2015, 745 million active users access Facebook through mobile devices every day. Sherr, Ian (January 28, 2015).“Facebook mobile users hit new highs, revenue jumps”. Cnet. The like button is a social networking feature, allowing users to express their appreciation of content such as status updates, comments, photos, and advertisements. It is also asocial plug-in of the Facebook Platform – launched on April 21, 2010[238][239] – that enables participating Internet websites to display a similar like button.

On September 14, 2011, Facebook added the ability for users to provide a “Subscribe” button on their page, which allows users to subscribe to public postings by the user without needing to add them as a friend.[242] In conjunction, Facebook also introduced a system in February 2012 to verify the identity of certain accounts.[243]

In December 2012, Facebook announced that because of user confusion surrounding its function, the Subscribe button would be re-labeled as a “Follow” button—making it more similar to other social networks with similar functions.[244]

Number of advertisers

In February 2015, Facebook announced that it had reached two million active advertisers with most of the gain coming from small businesses. An active advertiser is an advertiser that has advertised on the Facebook platform in the last 28 days.[152] In March 2016, Facebook announced that it reached three million active advertisers with more than 70% from outside the US.[153]

Yahoo Buzz?

Yahoo Buzz is Yahoo’s version of social news. Yahoo users can vote for stories from across the web and boost their buzz rating. And if a story gets a high enough buzz rating, it will be featured on Yahoo’s home page, which could translate to millions of page hits for the website publishing the story.

The stories are arranged by category and originate from publishing partnerships with Yahoo. Content publishers will contact Yahoo requesting that their content appear in Yahoo Buzz, and if approved, their stories will be thrown into the mix.
